Who starts a blog in 2025?
Hello World
The title says it all. Who on earth would start a blog in 2025? The year that is predicted to be the one where to true power of AI will rise, and with that generated content for every one. So yeah, if the aim was to be read and generate a ton of views (or ad revenue 🤑) this would be totally vain. But it's not my goal.
Discovering something new
I have been working for more than 8 years in backend development and... I never really put a website online. When working in big companies like I did, you just dive into a project, sometimes make some little twist on the front, sometimes change a bit the delivery process but everything is always here. By creating this website, I aim to go a bit more in depth in this process.
On the front end side, I used a template with Nuxt. I don't want to go too deep in the front development, just to be able to achieve my goals quickly, and it seemed like the best tradeoff. A lot of components available, a template ready to use, but no constraints. And it is coupled with TailwindCSS, which I find FAN-TAS-TIC. I always hated CSS, I find it really hard to structure and there are way too many options for me. But Tailwind is really simplifying everything and I don't think I will do a project without it in the future.
Deployment wise, it's time for me to improve my cloud skills. I have used different clouds through company tooling, but never really dove into it. Here I want to get my hands on with a simple real life case, but I aim to do more complex stuff afterwards. Let's see that as a first step.
A personal need
There are many projects I started, but kind of lost the track of it. I want to use this blog as a personal guiding thread of my ideas and projects I work on. I find that writing really helps to structure your thoughts. One could say I could write everything in a notebook or so, but I am a software developer, if it can be done on a computer I'll do it this way 😀. And if in the meantime, the things I do can somehow help someone one day, I would be for the best. Worst case, it will just feed the big LLMs, and help some products to be bette.
